Sekiro Cabinet

Classic Arcade with a modern twist
Client
Martin
Project Duration
7 Months
My client from Austria reached out with a request for a 32-inch arcade cabinet, primarily for classic games.
His focus was clear: great quality and attention to detail.
I came up with the idea of an inclined drawer with precision-cut slots for the light guns and controllers.
To make this work, it needed a drawer rail locking mechanism — something strong enough to hold the angle and prevent the drawer from dropping when closed. A small engineering challenge, but a fun one to solve.
Martin also requested a classic coin door, which was a first for me. I’d never built one before — so that made it even more fun.
I designed custom artwork to be laser-engraved on the underside of the plexiglass control panel top.
This way, when the LEDs are turned on, the light flows through the panel and illuminates the artwork from within — giving it a clean, glowing effect.
Fun fact:
The entire cabinet was built using only the Shaper Origin, a handheld CNC machine. Every detail was cut, shaped, and refined with it — which made the build even more rewarding.
Sahaj handled the design and came up with the Sekiro-inspired theme.
Both my client and I loved the Japanese art style, so we fully embraced the concept — and it turned out beautifully.
Due to all the new techniques I used (which feel easy to me now), this cabinet ended up taking much more time than I originally expected — but the result was absolutely worth it.
Fun fact: Martin actually traveled all the way from Austria to visit me in the workshop and see his Sekiro cabinet in person.
Although I had tested everything thoroughly — including the night before — during the big demonstration, the cabinet started acting up. USB disconnects, strange behavior... not ideal.
It turned out to be a simple USB driver issue and was resolved later that same day, but man — when your client makes a special trip for a live demo, that’s the last thing you want to happen.
Luckily, everything was quickly fixed, and Martin is still, to this day, not just a fantastic customer… but a great friend.
